237-meter tower at the Star Sydney casino hotel will not be built

The New South Wales (Australia) Independent Planning Commission rejects casino operator The Star Entertainment Group’s plans to build a $ 500 million 66-story tower that was to adjoin an existing casino hotel in Pyrmont, Sydney. This is reported by the casinonewsdaily edition.com.
As stated in the IC’s findings that the proposed tower would result in an unacceptably constructed shape, including the height of this structure. The planned Star Tower will also result in “unacceptable visual impacts due to its scale, isolation and visual dominance over the existing view of Pyrmont.”
