Advertising of the bookmaker was banned for the line “Try again”

The UK Advertising Standards Commission has banned advertisements for the Coral bookmaker. On its Twitter page, the company announced their current promotion, in which players received their lost amount back in the form of a free bet if their horse didn’t finish.

In the message itself, the commission did not notice anything irresponsible, but a video was attached to it. This video reproduces the situation they advertised when a jockey falls from a horse and one of the spectators gets upset because he put on this horse. Then he looks at the phone, where the inscription “Have another go” appears, which can be translated as “Try again.”

In the opinion of the commission, this line “Try again” can be perceived as motivation to repeatedly use the bonus and makes the decision to gamble as something ordinary. In response to the ban on displaying ads, the bookmaker noted that he did not see anything in it that would provoke an irresponsible game.
