MGM Resorts International this week announced that the Nevada Gambling Control Board has approved a return to 100% occupancy and no social distancing for gambling halls located on the company’s Las Vegas Strip. These properties include Bellagio Resort & Casino, ARIA Resort & Casino, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Park MGM, The Mirage Hotel & Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino and Excalibur.
Permission was granted based on MGM Resorts’ work to vaccinate its employees and only applies to playgrounds. Current 80% occupancy restrictions and three-foot social distancing policies remain in effect outside of gaming areas, including in restaurants, pools and other non-gaming areas and events.
MGM Resorts CEO and President Bill Hornbuckle said:
“This is another major milestone in Las Vegas’s incredible recovery and a testament to the importance of vaccinations in our quest to fully open up our community. We will continue to work to vaccinate as many people as possible and will be vigilant by adhering to health and safety protocols designed to protect our employees, guests and the community. This vital work must continue for us to defeat this virus, and MGM Resorts is committed to doing its part to achieve this goal. “
Additional OSH protocols, including applicable mask requirements, will continue based on regulatory requirements and expert advice.
