Hacker attacks on land-based casinos happen from time to time. In early March 2020, it became known that two Las Vegas casinos had been experiencing big problems for about a week. Presumably it was a hacker attack, as a result of which computers and most of the slot machines were out of order. And casinos were forced to accept only cash.

But last year, as a result of a cyber attack at MGM casinos, the data of more than 140 million guests were stolen. The criminals obtained personal data, including addresses and phone numbers, but did not get to the financial data.
